Label CopyThe double spouts on this burnished blackware bottle are connected by a broad strap handle. The vessel is decorated with animals (foxes or dogs?) on a studded panel design. The vessel is squat and rounded, with a somewhat rounded base. The spouts taper slightly, narrowing at the tip. This vessel may be Lambayeque (ca. 900-1370 AD) rather than Chimu, or a transitional vessel. Lambayeque vessels of this double-spout type would typically have a pedestal base, while Chimu bottles would more commonly have a stirrup-spout handle.
