Label CopyThis painting represents a good example of how Huang Junbi's distinct painting style combined both Chinese and Western influences, exemplified by the unusual way he painted clouds and waterfalls. Clouds appear not only as misty and hazy, but also as if drifting in a certain direction. Waterfalls show the rhythmic movement of water, in contrast to the rather stiff renditions seen in traditional landscape paintings. The White Cloud Hall was the name of Huang’s studio in Taiwan.
