Label Text: Portrayed in the painting are the artist, Sully Obin; his uncle Philomé; his cousins Antoine and Thélémaque; and Sully’s father, Sénèque. All were painters, and all protégés of the family patriarch, Philomé.

Visible through the open window depicted at right is a distant, monumental structure that may represent a lighthouse, or perhaps a church steeple.
