Cloudy mountains, how deep and far
Their brightness relies on simplicity
After twenty years, hunger and thirst remain
It's difficult to follow behind the rising dust

The artist goes on to say that he was inspired by Mi Youren's painting, "On a Clear Autumn Day in the Mountains of Yao"

Lively mountain stream and rows of stone
Inebriated boat returns to the village mist
Overcast or sunny, many peaks compete for unique beauty
Not tiring of the high [?] before our eyes
