{"object":[{"sourceId":{"label":"Source ID","value":"5128"},"creditline":{"label":"Credit Line","value":"Museum Purchase Fund"},"invno":{"label":"Object number","value":"62.3338"},"description":{"label":"Description","value":"Thang ka of Sakyamuni is seated on a red lotus between heaven and earth surrounded by numerous smaller buddhas floating against the landscape and the sky, and is flanked by his two disciples Sariputra and Maudgalyayana.  Sakyamuni is in monastic garb, a red robe draped over the left shoulder, partly covering the right, over a naked torso.  He is seated in meditative posture, holding the patra (begging bowl) in his left hand, the right hand forming the bhumisparsa mudra (calling the earth to witness).  His earlobes are long, he has the urna (auspicious mark) on the forehead, and the hair is up in the curly-haired Greco-Buddhist chignon, topped by a pearl.  Behind the two halos is a flowering tree, with among others, red lotus flowers.  Under the great red lotus stands a precious table with three kalasa (vases holding ambrosia) one holding a cakra (wheel or disk) here with a red and black yin-yang as center, another holding a sangka (conch shell).  At the bottom is seen, two tantric deities, a king or nobleman in red robes being served by a woman, attended by a manholding a fruitbowl, a seated monk in red with  red cape (Padmasambhava, founder of sect of Re-caps, Nying-ma-pa-?) attended by two monks."},"medium":{"label":"Medium","value":"Thangka: opaque watercolors and gold on cloth"},"onview":{"label":"On View","value":"0"},"title":{"label":"Title","value":"Sakyamuni"},"classification":{"label":"Classifications","value":"Paintings"},"people":{"label":"Artist / Maker / Culture","value":"Unidentified artist"},"culture":{"label":"Culture","value":"Tibet"},"displayDate":{"label":"Date","value":"18th century"},"id":{"label":"Id","value":"192742"},"dimensions":{"label":"Dimensions","value":"32 × 25 inches (81.3 × 63.5 cm)"}}]}
