The front depicts a Lu fish and crab. The calligraphy on the front says, fine wine, yellow flower, just getting fat crab. The Lu fish’s taste is so delicious that I cannot help drinking. Chang’an is too far away for me to see my old friends and I am so indulged in writing poetry that I failed to get in touch with you for a long time. 
The reverse depicts a vegetable flower – Fo Shou or Buddha’s Hand, which is of the red hot pepper plant. The calligraphy suggests Qing He Yue wrote on the snuff bottles in 1985.
