Label CopySarah Brayer’s poured washi paper works are made in Imadate, Echizen, traditionally known as a paper-making center. She works with master women papermakers there who assist her in moving the large screens needed for making monumental works like this one. Oceanic Moon contains luminescent fibers and is meant to be experienced in a ten-minute cycle. Rochester-based musician Steve Greene (stevegreen.com) was commissioned to create a special soundtrack, titled “Luminous Cicadas,” specifically for this work.
