Label CopyIn the Hindu epic Ramayana, the king of the birds, Jatayu, tries heroically to stop the kidnapping of Rama’s wife Sita by Ravana. While flying through the air, Sita cries out for help to Jatayu, but Ravana savagely cuts off his wings and the bird falls to the ground.
Meanwhile, Rama, who was chasing a golden deer that was really the demon Maricha in disguise, captures and kills it, but it transforms into a demon and Rama realizes Ravana’s devious plot. When Rama and his brother Laksmana find Jatayu, the bird confirms with his dying breath their suspicions about Sita’s disappearance.
