The bottom and sides of the basket are woven in mat plait, edged with a band of twining. The base is raised on a bamboo and rattan foot with feet formed by insertions secured with insect stitches to the corners. The upper section is in an open flared one thousand-line construction held in place with X-stitches. The basket has a double rim: the outer is loosely wrapped with bamboo and bound to the inner with bundled stitches. The bamboo culm handle is attached to the rim with binding stitches and two insect wrapped supports on one end, which mirror the split culm on the other. The base is square plated with two insertions, one of which is signed.
