Tightly twined at the top and bottom, the middle section has open horizontal twine plait creating a diamond pattern. Six long insect woven strips are inserted and attached with complex knots around the basket. The wide rim is wrapped and banded with bamboo and rattan stiches and has a high wrapped and knotted attached bamboo handle. The basket sits on a separately woven base and bamboo wrapped foot which is sewn to the bottom of the basket. There are three bamboo supports on the base, the top one of which is signed.
