Edition 28/51</schema:artMedium><schema:description>Clemente, a leading contemporary printmaker and artist, is known for his ability to combine influences from his global life lived partially in his native Italy, partially in the Madras region of India, and partially in New York City. This print attests to his ability to combine and transmute techniques from across the world. Air is a complex ukiyo-e-inspired woodcut fabricated to look like a watercolor. Clemente produces different blocks and cuts and inks them differently, layering one on top of the other to produce this surreal image.
