A Manchurian crane, inlaid with translucent mother of pearl, is taking off in flight from a bank of grasses over a reef in water. Beyond distant mountains is a zig-zag wedge of migrating geese. Continuing the landscape on the other side is a bird already in flight. Interior, nashiji (sprinkled with gold dust to resemble nashi pear skin).
