Later examples of a popular theme firmly established by the 12th century Southern Song Academy. Two ducks swim close to shore, where grasses, plants, flowers and a peony plant grow.  Several of the peonies are in fuull bloom.  A hummingbird is perched near the top of a stalk sprung forth from perhaps a reed-like plant.
