Oversized and highly-stylized hands and cylindrical arms extend from broad yet rounded shoulders. Hair curls are crowned by a spherical-jewel/gem finial. He wears a thin garment covering left shoulder. Rounded face; but features are sharply defined with ridges and incised lines. His symbolic hand gesture brings forth a flood that carred away the evil forces. The style "Lion type" had been coined by Griswold to refer to certain examples from the north in the 15th century Lan Na kingdom which are based on a model that had been popular in India more than 200 years before.
