The obverse features a right profile bust portrait of Andrew Johnson with commemorative inscription.  The reverse features allegorical figures of a Native American and Columbia seen shaking hands before a pedestal with the bust of George Washington upon it.  Colummbia holds the American flag  in her arm and a locamotive is seen in the distance on the right.
