The obverse features a left profile bust portrait of Paul Revere that is seen above a sword that is entwined with a ribbon. Below the sword is a chalice or urn, symbolizing Revere's own handiwork as a silversmith. The portrait is flanked with an inscription and Revere's life dates. The reverse features the image of Revere standing beneath a tree as he prepares to mount his horse for his famous Midnight Ride. Within the left side of the background, the steeple of North Shore church is visible on the horizon.
