The obverse features allegorical figures: one seated on the back of a winged horse and holding a book in one arm while the other arm is outstretched, another figure (Mercury?) leads the horse while holding a sword aloft in his other hand. A female figure stands in the foreground with her arms outstretched, holding a palm frond in one hand and a laurel leaf crown or wreath in the other. A nude male figure is seen crouched in the background. Beneath the word "justice" hangs a pair of scales and a wreath while the word "peace" is also seen on the right. The reverse depicts a view of the Palace of Versailles in France enframed by a wreath of olive branches. The sun shines from above within a clearing sky while an inscription proclaims, "Peace of Versailles, 1919."
