He wears a red robe with red and green patterning; to his head are strapped two sawn-off horns (?), and above his head floats an inverted black boot. Gichner identifies him as Hoy Fan or Chang Kuer, \"exorcist and chief of an early Taoist sect, the Yellow Turbans\". The dragon has yellow scales and green and red mane; the figure of the rider is framed by the dragon tail coming down from the sky on the left and the long red flames shooting out of the dragon's mouth on the right.  The bottom third of the painting is filled with two mounted figures both with halos.  To the left, a figure in a red robe with green pattern, on a white horse with green mane, wielding a halberd. To the right, a figure in a green robe on a tan horse with blue mane, holding a scroll with four characters in an archaizing-decorative script.  Red blue and green clouds float around.  6/6/86  Astri W."},"medium":{"label":"Medium","value":"Hanging scroll: ink and colors on paper"},"onview":{"label":"On View","value":"0"},"media":{"label":"Media","value":"85.059.004"},"title":{"label":"Title","value":"Yao ritual painting of Hoi Fan Ton: \"The Sea Banner\""},"classification":{"label":"Classifications","value":"Paintings"},"people":{"label":"Artist / Maker / Culture","value":"Unidentified artist"},"primaryMedia":{"value":"https://emuseum.cornell.edu/internal/media/dispatcher/113012/full"},"culture":{"label":"Culture","value":"Vietnam"},"displayDate":{"label":"Date","value":"Early 20 century"},"id":{"label":"Id","value":"212389"}}]}
