Standing on an octagonal foot ring, and having a slender curving spout joined to the wide tapering neck by a slender porcelain bar, a rectilinear handle, a a wide octagonal lip rim and a flat dome-form lid with a large knob finial. The eight sections of the body are separated by slightly raised ridges, and there is a raised collar at the base of the neck. Each section of the body is decorated with a blooming plant or a scrolling floral motif. Each panel of the neck is painted with a large banana leaf, and the lid is similarly decorated with different leaves. All painted in underglaze cobalt blue on a greyish white ground. The glaze stops short of the foot revealing a buff-colored clay body.
