Label CopyRoman lamps were made in molds to allow uniformity in both the shape of the lamp's body and in the image applied to the discus. Since these lamps were both products of artisanal craftsmanship and commercially traded goods, some potters would "sign" their work by stamping or inscribing the lamp. Here, the maker's signature, "MYRO", is visible on the bottom.
